Duplexrolls have the advantage ofselecting the harder best performingmaterial on the working surface,which is primarily a clear carbonchilled cast iron or a Cr-Ni-Moalloyed chill cast iron & a relativelysofter material inside. After castingthe rolls are annealed to relieve theinternal stresses thus improving thestrength of the material. After heattreatment the rolls are machined &fitted with spindles from both sides.Fluting is also done on the rollsurface as per requirement of thecustomer.
